With Classic Tales, you can create a complete language lesson based around the story.
Step 1 | Step 2 | Step 3
Use a Big Book to introduce the story to the class
Talk about the cover to stimulate interest and introduce main characters and vocabulary. Ask students: Who can you see in the picture? Where are they? What are they doing / looking at?

Say: Let's tell this story together. Turn the pages as students retell the story themselves or guess what is happening. If necessary, ask questions: How does the story begin? Look at the pictures. What happens next?
After each double page, ask: What happens next? Students shout out suggestions (in English if possible although Japanese is fine too at this stage). Towards the end of story, ask: How does the story end? Students draw a picture and write some simple text to predict the ending.

With the book open, practice questions and answers: Is it a...? Yes, it is / No, it isn't. Is there a...? Yes, there is / No, there isn't. What / Where / Why / Which / Who...? Students can ask each other questions too.
